I fear that Shannon and I are too similar. From the moment she joined OC, she has been on an emotional rollercoaster 😭.
Poor woman can’t catch a break — no matter how hard she tries. She really does try, and I commend her for that. I don’t think anything about her feels forced, unlike some Housewives. For example, Tamra pushed her baptism and journey with Christ as a storyline, only to be let go and later return to continue terrorising the other ladies (especially Shannon). She doesn’t even mention her faith anymore. It was a fake and forced storyline for the show — it never felt authentic.
Shannon, on the other hand — from what we saw anyway — genuinely tried to make things work with her awful ex-husband. He just threw it back in her face and exposed his true colours during their divorce. I can’t help but always feel for Shannon because she’s an emotional being, just like myself. Her emotions sit right on the surface, ready to spill over.
There have been many takedown attempts on Shannon, but she hasn’t allowed any of the women — or the rotten men she dates — to bully her off the show. And for that, she will always have my respect. Heather Dubrow (who I also love) ran off the show because Kelly Dodd said the word “c*nt.”
The Grande Dame of Potomac got arrested for drunk driving, then spent the entirety of Season 8 defending herself and acting as if she were innocent. When the truth finally came out, she skipped the reunion like a coward. I expected more from her — but I digress.
Shannon, on the other hand, walked right into the lion’s den — surrounded by a group of women who weren’t her biggest fans and her ex’s new girlfriend — and faced them all. Shannon Storms Beador is a force to be reckoned with, whether you like it or not. She’s a delusional, crazy old lady — but she’s a fighter, and I respect that. No one could ever make me hate her, unfortunately.
